Oops...I emailed this to the wrond blog.

There is hope!

My new found determination really paid off! I set out for my 20 mile run thinking there was no way I would finish. I had even told myself thaw if I got in 13 I would be ok. Well I was wrong. The first 2 hours were rough but after that I fell into a comfortable run/walk routine and was able to finish in just under 4 hours and 10 mins. I know this is a painfully slow pace. Most people finish a all 26.2 of a marathon in this time but for me it was just right. I'm so thrilled to complete the full 20 that I don't really care if I run/walk just as long as I finish.
Maybe I can actually do this. Only 28 days until the real test...

Here we go

I created this blog 30 days prior to the nyc marathon. I feel under prepared and wanted to spend the next 30 days dedicated to my training. Years ago I had read that it takes 30 days to create/form a new habit and I figured that I could use the blog as motivation not only for the marathon but also for any goals I wanted to set for myself. My thought is that on the day I set a goal for myself, there will only be 30 more days to go until it is a habit of mine and not as much of a struggle. If I can do something for 30 days, I can make it part of my life.

I will probably work on more than one goal at a time and most likely will fail at a few along the way. I hope that I can become the person I want to be and accomplish the things  I set out to do.

Only In New York...

Every once in a while I see something that any normal person would think of as odd but after living in the city for 6 years, I just smile and pretend nothing strange happened. Today I was walking home from the subway when I was passed by Captain America. I mean it was a full, head to toe body suit, face mask, and shield. I chuckled a bit as no one around me even noticed but didn't think much of it. When I got home I saw that ComicCon started today so this guy was probably coming from there. Or maybe he wasn't. This could be his everyday outfit or maybe he was out to save the world?

Just another day in nyc.

Day Thirteen

I was not expecting snow when I walked outside. I guess the
groundhog was right today, we are going to have six more weeks of winter.

Day Twelve

I loved to be surprised by the things I see while walking around the city. The castle almost blends in with the buldings around it.

Day Eleven

The one tree on the block still decorated with lights.

Day Ten

The Cobblestone along Wall St

I was surprised by the stickers on my banana! So cute!

Day Nine

I have no idea where I got this glass but I love the picture

Day Eight

My Aunt gave this Vera Bradley clutch to my last year for my birthday and its the perfect size for my camera. I love the bright pattern and the soft cloth ensures that my camera doesn't get scratched.

Day Seven

What a great book! I wanted to read it as the movie is coming out soon but I had no idea how good it was. I'm so caught up in it an can't wait to finish!!

Day Six

A new running shirt I picked up at the Under Armor Pop up store

Day Five

JP Morgan Tournament of Champions Squash 2010 in Grand Central

This was the 2:15pm match: Simon Rosner v Renan Lavigne

This was is a really cool event I just happened to read about online. They set up a glass court and spectators are able to see from all sides. The tournament goes on until the 28th so I may stop by again.

Day Four

Lasker Pond in Central Park

A view across the pond from the skating rink

The sunset from Morningside Dr.

The Cathedral of St John the Divine

Above the altar

Day Three

On my way home. These were taking standing on the Southeast corner of 86th and Lex.

Day Two

A beautiful tree in Central park near the E 97th street exit.
The sun was jut setting so the color of the sky was wonderful.

Day One

I feel this is a very fittng picture to start my task. I've decided I want to try and take at least one picture everyday. Today's picture explains how hard I think this will be. Also, I was incrdibly surprised by this wine. I picked it up a month or so ago at Trader Joe's Wine shop for about $5. It is a nice, easy pinot noir. Something I will definately keep my eye out for the next time I go there.
